Transition Activist Intensive

November 27, 2018 by Laurie Young

This gathering is aimed to revolutionize your effectiveness as a leader, healer, and social activist in times of rapid change. Our society is entering a time of profound transition. Crises in the economy, the ecosystem, health, education, water, energy, and more are propelling our civilization toward a radically different way of living on planet earth. Such conditions call for a new kind of leader, and even a whole new paradigm of leadership. At stake are the deep questions: “Who are we?” What are we here to create?” “What is the role of humanity on earth, and how may I contribute to it?”

In this gathering we will explore, in concept and in practice: Our unique historical moment; from separation to connection; The dynamics of transition (personal, organization, planetary); Envisioning together “a more beautiful world our hearts tell us is possible;” Leadership independent of power structures and hierarchies; What does leadership mean in a non-hierarchical setting?; The necessity for miracles, and how to access them; How to accomplish what seems impossible; Rebuilding community and meaningful relationships through living in “the gift.”

Many people sense that the multiple crises of today share a common root. All of them come from an invisible mythology: a Story of the Self and a Story of the People that holds us separate from each other and the world.  In this gathering, we will see clearly how this mythology generates the dominant institutions of our civilization, as well as the structures of our own lives. We will touch upon our innate knowledge that a more beautiful world is possible. We will see how to draw power from that knowledge. We will tap into a larger framework of cause and effect than the old story recognizes so that we can envision and accomplish what once seemed impossible. We will begin to clear the invisible habits of Separation that limit our power as healers and change agents. And we will experience the convergence of the worlds of spirituality and activism — a necessity when we understand that the roots of the present crisis go all the way to the bottom. Utilizing multiple modalities, this workshop will crystallize the “next step” in your transition into the New Story.

Envisioning the Future of Civilization

September 11, 2018 by Laurie Young

In these changing times, many of us are exploring and engaging new systems that can ensure the future of civilization. No doubt, it’ll take a massive coordinated and aligned effort of well-considered regenerative solutions alongside a powerful network of individuals and organizations committed to the collective efforts for such change to occur.

At the center of this evolutionary movement, there are those of us committed to the powerful purpose of creating authentic and holistic communities that are focused on both inner development and transformational practices and outward results and impact. The two go together and must be integrated. Such communities can be urban or local, online or offline, focused on the best of the tribal past and indigenous wisdom, and/or cutting-edge in their explorations of technology, entrepreneurship and conscious evolution.

TRIBALIZE has been developing a knowledge community of visionaries and organizations from this movement who hold key insights for scaling best practices and are dedicated to aligning everyone into an evolutionary networked organization with new paradigm communities around the world, helping them take root and flourish. We are working with other organizations at the forefront of bringing people and communities together and building a greater Alliance.

Join our panel of dynamic thought leaders from the TRIBALIZE community who will reveal some of the findings from a “Mastermind Gathering” on the subject of Envisioning the Future of Civilization earlier in the day. We’ll explore your questions and ideas in a lively dialogue about the critical issues and opportunities in our movement for the future of humanity.

Tickets: $40 / free for members

Envisioning a Sacred Blockchain: Toward Shared Values and Distributed Ownership

September 11, 2018 by Laurie Young

A decentralized economy is emerging, but what are its values? Encouraged by the dramatic upswell of interest in blockchain technologies, communities around the globe have begun experimenting with new ways to represent, store, and exchange value. But is it really possible to re-envision and evolve our closely held cultural values and beliefs around a concept as deeply embedded as money?

Join Charles Eisenstein, author of Sacred Economics: Money, Gift, and Society in the Age of Transition, in conversation with Matthew Pirkowski and Chelsea Rustrum, as they explore the transformative potential of decentralized technologies. How might these technologies help us generate new economic ecologies that sustain human flourishing? Can they help shift our focus from growth at all costs to a more integrated picture of human values? How can those of us working in the space avoid simply repeating the patterns of the past?

As humanity stands before a fork in the path of our economic future, we aim to seed conversation that steers us toward what Charles describes as the More Beautiful World Our Hearts Know is Possible.

Event Details:

5:30-6:00 – Reception and community building

6:00-7:00 – Moderated Conversation

7:00-8:00 – Audience Q&A / Discussion

Village Well Symposium

September 7, 2018 by Laurie Young

For a week in September, a massive convergence of activists, politicians and cultural leaders will take place in San Francisco to address climate change — the largest gathering of its kind since 2015’s COP21 in Paris. This upcoming Global Climate Action Summit will focus not only on the role of government but also on individual and community actions. We are straddling a crucial tipping point, and the time is now for anyone with a vested interest in our future to come together and make a firm, specific commitment to helping reverse our current trajectory.

The Village Well Symposium is hosting a platform for a diverse array of deeply committed people to come together and dig into the true nature of the issues at hand, as well as the solutions that offer real hope in these intense times. This unique forum will build bridges between indigenous & frontline community leaders, science & technology, executives and innovators, art & festival culture, and impact investment groups. To get the word out and reach as many people internationally as possible, we are also hosting a live webcast to amplify these solutions and action steps.

This is a call to commit — a call to be of service to the Earth and to the survival of our species. For it is the widespread lack of connection to the sacred and to the indivisible interdependence of all life that lies at the heart of the current climate crisis. We need all hands on deck, as this is the single most important topic affecting all life.

We invite you, our extended community across the globe, to participate in this historical webcast of the live event, where we will collectively commit to the following action steps each one of us can take — starting now.

COMMITMENT ACTION STEPS

The first and most important ongoing step is to cultivate a way of life that prioritizes your connection and sense of belonging to the Earth.

  1. In careful observation of your life and community, including showing up for local politics and reaching out to those outside your social circle, choose and commit to an area of focus… Examples include: water protection, wildlife conservation, resource extraction, renewable energy, frontline impact and community education.

  2. Commit to taking a journey of research and learning in order to understand the intricacies and approaches to the topic you choose.

  3. Connect with a friend or organization to create an accountability structure that will support your regular, impactful involvement.

  4. Make showing up in your local community and getting involved a part of your work in the world. Be the example of what it looks like to truly commit to being a part of the solution.

You are born of the earth and all that you have comes from the earth, every day of your life, every breath that you take. Now is the time to give back daily, in order to ensure that this circle of life can continue and flourish.

Charles Eisenstein: Flipping the Script on Climate Change

August 14, 2018 by Laurie Young

How can we reimagine the framing, tactics, and goals we employ in our journey to heal from ecological destruction?

Join renowned author and philosopher Charles Eisenstein who will discuss his new book, Climate: A New Story, in which he advocates for expanding our exclusive focus on carbon emissions to see the broader picture beyond our short-sighted and incomplete approach.

Eisenstein details how the quantification of the natural world leads to a lack of integration and our “fight” mentality. The rivers, forests, and creatures of the natural and material world are sacred and valuable in their own right, not simply for carbon credits or preventing the extinction of one species versus another.

After all, when you ask someone why they first became an environmentalist, they’re likely to point to the river they played in, the ocean they visited, the wild animals they observed, or the trees they climbed when they were a kid. This refocusing away from impending catastrophe and our inevitable doom cultivates meaningful emotional and psychological connections and provides real, actionable steps to caring for the earth.

Freeing ourselves from a war mentality and seeing the bigger picture of how everything from prison reform to having the whales can contribute to our planetary ecological health, we resist reflexive postures of solution and blame and reach toward the deep place where commitment lives.

Climate: A New Story will be available for sale, and Eisenstein will be signing books after the event.

PLEASE NOTE: Price is self-determined. Pay an amount that reflects your feeling of value, gratitude, and desire to support the work, consistent with your financial means. If that amount is zero, we welcome you too.
