Welcome to the Conversation
Course Structure
Welcome to my conversation with Orland Bishop. As we engage with this material, I invite you to listen and absorb the teachings that Orland conveys to me in this transmission.
This program originated as a two-day filmed conversation between Orland Bishop and me, Charles Eisenstein. I approached Orland because I recognize him as a profound mystic whose draws on deep knowledge and training in West African, South African and European Hermetic traditions.
I’ve included study notes and discussion prompts as a starting point for exploration with others who have joined.
Each of the sessions will contain about 30-45 minutes of our conversation. The topics we cover are far-reaching and Orland’s communication is profound. While 30-45 minutes may seem brief, there is much to take in. I invite you to listen to the recordings multiple times to take in nuances. The units flow in the sequence they were recorded in our original conversation, so that you can follow along with us, experience it for yourself and perhaps explore with others engaged in the program.
Getting Started
You can find each unit of the course on the left tabs at the top of this page. I suggest navigating the course in the following way:
- Begin by watching or listening to each course unit as many times as you enjoy, allowing it to integrate as you go.
- Read the study notes provided at the end of the unit and take the time to reflect deeply on the material.
- Discussion for each of the suggested prompts will be invited on the dedicated course forum on our New & Ancient Story community on Mighty Networks,
Optional NAAS Subscription
This course has run as a DIY course, and you are welcome to do it that way. However, for many people it is more powerful to work the material with a group. My business partner and former wife Patsy and I host a network community called A New and Ancient Story (short for NAAS). It is an online network dedicated to reverence in communication. If you would like to participate in it in conjunction with this course, go to the community landing page and read the introduction and posting guidelines. If you feel resonant, you can join through additional subscription. Once you are a member, you will find archives of discussions on course forums on the left menu as well as participating in many features NAAS offers
