What is “NAAS”?
NAAS is short for A New and Ancient Story. It is an online space where
communities form organically through the practice of its fundamental intention:
to communicate with genuine respect for others, a generosity of seeing, and
self-responsibility.
What do I mean by a “new and ancient story”? The idea is that the world is built from stories, narratives, myths, and meanings. Such things as money, government, law, and organizations are only real because we believe in them, because we assign meaning to symbols. And the defining myths of our civilization scaffold these systems of meaning. At their core is what I call the Story of Separation, that tells us who we are (separate selves in a world of others), what is real, how to live, what is important, how things began, and where it is all going.
My life’s work is dedicated to the idea that humanity has an opportunity to transition out of that story, into a new (and also very ancient) story of interconnection, interdependency… interbeing.
NAAS is a place to immerse ourselves in that story and to support each other as we strive to inhabit a new story in our lives.
I also host Sanity Project 2026 and Halfmoon Podcast forums on NAAS. You can join NAAS with a monthly donation plan. To join, please visit naascommunity.org at or after 1PM EST on January 7th, 2026. We look forward to your participation in the new year
